Publishing Board
Incorporated as The National Baptist Convention Press, Inc., a subsidiary of the Convention, is responsible for the educational goals of the Convention by recruiting competent and proficient authors to produce literature required by the Convention; provide initial editing of all written drafts; determine the eligibility criteria for authors of Convention literature; review and approve literature received from external sources; assist churches with the production of manuals and guides; conduct Christian educational workshops with member churches; conduct appropriate research for the Convention; conduct research with respect to improved teaching methodologies; develop techniques for discipleship training through workshops and seminars; and develop strategies for marketing, sales and distribution of Convention literature.
In addition, the Publishing Board is the final arbiter, with the President of the Convention’s approval, of all publications written and bearing the name of the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc.
Educational Board
The Educational Board provides financial assistance to educational institutions, colleges, universities and seminaries.
Evangelical Board
The Evangelical Board promotes the ministry of evangelism as ordained and mandated by our Lord, Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20. The Evangelical Board is further required to inculcate the principles of evangelism in every aspect of the Convention’s functions.
Foreign Mission Board
The Foreign Mission Board has the overall responsibility for promoting the mission ministry of the Convention abroad as ordained and mandated our Lord, Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20. The Foreign Mission Board is charged with the duty of carrying out foreign mission work in ministry with local Christians and church bodies to complete the biblical assignment of the church of Jesus Christ. As authorized by the Board of Directors, the Foreign Mission Board dispatches persons beyond the local church to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in areas that are without witness, to win souls to Christ and to establish functioning local congregations for the continued witness to the faith.
Home Mission Board
The Home Mission Board promotes the home mission ministry of the Convention in response to the mandate of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Further, the Home Mission Board shall be responsible for planting new churches and promoting the enrollment of new churches with the Convention.
Marketing & Media Board
Marketing & Media Board launches, edits and manages the Convention’s national television program; develop national radio programs, and promote the work of the Convention through various forms of media.
College & Seminary Board
The College & Seminary Board works closely with accredited predominately black colleges and universities to develop an ongoing relationship with the Convention; promote the Convention’s conviction of the importance of attending colleges and universities; organize scholarship programs for the Conventions’ youth; and seek to develop an institution of higher learning to be operated by the Convention.
Pastoral Board
The Pastoral Board teaches churches how to care for pastors; develops and implements a plan to provide legal representation for Convention pastors; provide sound direction to young pastors/ministers concerning Baptist Orthodoxy; works to establish a Senior Pastors’ Retirement; and assists pastors in the Convention with their concerns.
Church Growth & Development Board
Church Growth & Development Board works to strengthen membership churches; provides resources for growth and development; and establishes a church growth fund to assist small churches and church planting initiatives.
Insurance & Annuity Board
Insurance & Annuity Board coordinates membership drives with the Convention’s designated retirement, disability, and/or health insurance representatives; and negotiates, on behalf of the Convention, the terms and conditions of any agreements for Insurance and Annuities with consultation with the Convention’s legal counsel.
